The 2023 (China) Asia-Europe Commodity Trade Expo, themed “Promoting the Spirit of the Silk Road and Deepening Asia-Europe Cooperation,” will be held in Urumqi from August 17th to 21st. Participants include 40 countries and regions such as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as 7 international organizations. During the event, there will be an opening ceremony and Tianshan Forum, a Silk Road business development symposium, a Central Asia legal services forum, a Central Asia regional economic cooperation think tank development forum, and 33 trade and investment promotion activities.
The Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of the 2023 (China) Asia-Europe Commodity Trade Expo and Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Xinjiang International Expo Affairs Bureau, Zhu Zuxiang, introduced that the exhibition scale of this Expo is 70,000 square meters, which is the largest in history. All investment promotion and exhibition work has been completed. There are more than 1,300 participating companies, including 25 Fortune Global 500 companies, 7 Chinese Fortune 500 companies, and 117 industry-leading companies. The number of large enterprises and brand enterprises participating in the exhibition is the highest in history. The proportion of special booths in the entire museum reached 62%, the highest in history.
This Expo has set up an investment cooperation exhibition area for the first time. Six provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, corps and 14 prefectures and cities in the autonomous region have concentrated on introducing industrial development achievements and investment promotion policies and advantages.
Trade and investment promotion activities are a key focus of this Expo. There will be 33 domestic and foreign activities such as promotion and display, industry docking, supply-demand docking, etc., which is the largest number in history. In order to promote the development of Xinjiang’s textile and garment industry, the Expo has set up a special textile and garment industry exhibition area and a national cotton area to organize national textile and garment enterprises and buyers to participate in textile and garment procurement activities. At the same time, a high-quality development conference for Xinjiang’s textile and garment industry will be held. The Asia-Europe Fashion Week event under the framework of the Expo will hold joint releases of well-known clothing designers’ works, brand clothing special releases, college student model contests, etc.
The Tianshan International Consumer Festival with the theme of “All People Gather for Business Expo to Enjoy New Life” will be held at the same time as this Expo. More than 50 “stage activities”, “exhibition activities” and city-wide linkage activities will be set up to carry out a series of consumption promotion activities to form a lively scene where multiple points are launched simultaneously and everyone participates.
