In March this year, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and elevated the China-Singapore relationship to a forward-looking partnership of all-round high quality. This has pointed out the direction for us to deepen the local cooperation between Shandong and Singapore. Since the beginning of this year, we have followed the important instructions of President Xi Jinping, accelerated the construction of the green, low-carbon and high-quality development pilot zone, vigorously developed the digital economy, accelerated the energy transition, shaped new advantages for industrial development, and steadily and solidly carried out various tasks, promoting the socialist modernization of Shandong Province in the new era. Singapore has always been an important economic and trade partner of Shandong, and the Singapore-Shandong Economic and Trade Council has played an important role in promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation. We hope that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the fields of digital economy, low-carbon environmental protection, green finance, etc., promote exchanges and interactions between governments, enterprises, universities and civil society, welcome Singaporean enterprises and universities to participate in the construction of the Jinan new and old kinetic energy conversion start-up zone, and write a new chapter of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
Zhou Naixiang said in his speech that Shandong and Singapore have a long history and a solid foundation for local exchanges and cooperation. The Singapore-Shandong Economic and Trade Council is the first economic and trade cooperation mechanism established by a local government in China and Singapore. Over the past 30 years, it has promoted friendly cooperation and achieved fruitful results. Looking to the future, we are willing to work with Singapore to make full use of the council platform, jointly expand the new space for green, low-carbon and high-quality development, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of low-carbon industry, clean energy development, information technology, precision engineering, modern service industry, port logistics, etc., jointly build a new highland for open development, and promote bilateral cooperation and development to a new level. We will make every effort to create a market-oriented, rule-of-law and internationalized business environment, and provide quality services and create a good environment for Singaporean entrepreneurs and talents to develop in Shandong. Chee Hong Tat said that the Singapore-Shandong Economic and Trade Council has reached an important milestone of 30 years. Over the past 30 years, the local exchanges and economic and trade contacts between Singapore and Shandong have been steadily advancing, and the achievements are encouraging. He hoped that the two sides would make good use of the council platform, continue to deepen cooperation in the fields of green economy, trade and investment, scientific research and innovation, connectivity, modern services, talent cultivation, etc., promote youth exchanges and people-to-people exchanges, and push bilateral cooperation to a new height. He hoped that the enterprises and government representatives attending the meeting would communicate and exchange more, seize new opportunities, and work together to create a new chapter for bilateral cooperation.

From Qingdao Port’s fully automated container terminal and intelligent air rail, to Rizhao Port’s open-type fully automated container terminal along the shore, from Yantai Port’s “full system, full process, fully automatic” dry bulk cargo specialized terminal control technology, to Bohai Bay Port’s automated gantry crane, the pace of digital transformation has gradually accelerated, and the results of innovation-driven development have gradually emerged. On March 23, the on-site promotion meeting for benchmarking world-class and improving the level of intelligent management was successfully held, and the digital and intelligent management of Shandong Port was highly recognized by all sectors of society and the industry. On May 31 of the same year, the pilot task of building a smart port for a strong transportation country passed the acceptance with a high score of 98.42. Shandong Port has continuously injected new vitality into the development of Shandong’s marine economy with its leading digital transformation and innovation initiatives.
At this conference, Singapore’s Port Authority and Shandong Port Group’s Qingdao Port signed a letter of intent for comprehensive cooperation on port digitalization, with Shanghai Jingsheng Software Technology Co., Ltd. and Qingdao Port International Container Development Co., Ltd. as the main cooperation entities, based on the principle of “cooperation for mutual benefit, complementary advantages and common development”, established a cooperation working group, and will leverage their rich experience and resource advantages in their respective fields, build a resource-sharing and mutually beneficial exchange platform, deepen cooperation in port digitalization solutions, cross-border trade logistics and other aspects, explore feasible port ecosystem digitalization solutions for the future, accelerate the transformation of “Shandong Port’s digitalization” to “digital Shandong Port”, and better contribute to the construction of a digital strong province.
